Therapeutic Foster Care:

A foster home in which the foster parents have received specialized training to enable them to provide care for a wide variety of children and adolescents, usually those with significant emotional or behavioral problems.

Florida Mentor is a part of The Mentor Network, a national consortium of programs and services for people with a variety of special needs including children in Therapeutic Foster Care and people with Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities. We will provide you with all necessary training and take you through the process of becoming a licensed Therapeutic Foster Parent or a licensed Developmental Services Foster Parent. As a Mentor, you'll work independently from your own home, receive a competitive stipend, and have access to 24-hr professional support. Medical Foster Care:

Licensed Foster Homes provide for the care and well being of children in foster care with severe medical needs.
