Eligibility & Training
Heartland for Children offers training and licensing opportunities for those who are eligible and meet the current needs of children in the foster care system. Preference for training enrollment is based upon the current needs of our foster care system.
Heartland for Children offers MAPP classes and Behavior Analyst Positive Parenting classes required for foster care licensing in Circuit 10 (Polk, Hardee, and Highlands) throughout the year. Total classroom hours equal 48 hours.
If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please contact the Foster Home and Adoption Liaison at (863)519-8900 ext. 289. If you are selected to participate in training, you will be invited to an orientation and future training classes. Orientation is mandatory for class participation.
